"Silent" Protests in Minsk

Thousands of young Belarusians youth took to the streets in capital Minsk and other Belarusian cities on Wednesday. They were silently walking on the main streets of their cities and occasionally clapping. Police detained over 460 people, including many journalists. More than a half of detentions were outside of Minsk. This is the first time a significant number of protesters took to the streets simultaneously in several major Belarusian cities. The organizers of "The Social Network Revolution" promised more protests in the future.
